Sycuan Casino is far away. Out in the boonies past El Cajon. Once you get out there, there’s nothing else out there. So they better have some good food options there, otherwise people won’t stay there forever spending their nickles and dimes. Suffice it to say, the food has to be at least decent.

My boy and I visited Sycuan Casino to get a taste of their buffet. They’re running a special now through Memorial Day – the .95 buffet now costs only , and includes Prime Rib on the menu. My boy liked this idea very much. I liked it, too, but probably not as much as he did.

I’ll have to say though, the majority of the food I tried at the buffet was excellent. There were not very many low points, just an overall surprise at how good everything was. We stood in the “Prime Rib” line as I like to call it (“Carving Station” is what they called it, but no one seemed to be getting the roast turkey that was also up for grabs). I also filled up my plate as much as it would go, filling in every little space on my plate.

I also wanted a few bites of some other items even though at this point I was getting pretty full. I got some of the creamy pesto bow ties which were to die for – so delicious and creamy, I had to force myself to stop eating it otherwise my stomach might have burst. I also tried the bacon vinaigrette spinach salad (again, totally tasty – bacon vinaigrette is a brilliant idea) and some steamed veggies to make me feel like I was eating something that was good for me.

They also have a crap ton of desserts and an ice cream station – with real ice cream, not soft serve – for your sweet tooth. I tried one tiny little lemon tart because I made some cheesecake that was at home waiting for us and didn’t want to miss out on that (though, I was still too full by the time we got home that I didn’t have any). The lemon tart (sorry, no photo) was a little piece of lemony goodness. Very good.

If you feel like driving far away and stuffing yourself silly, this is an excellent place to go, especially for only . It’s just about worth the cost of gas to come out here for such a divine meal.

I stayed here Ma 30 - June 1 in my 30ft Class C. Security came second day and asked 'how long I think to stay'. I said Im olaying in the poker room and want to play a couple days. He left without a comment, didn't come back. One night there was some police action next to my Rv but they didn't bother me. I have the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSMQpE_e-3M

There's a brand-new 10-story Hotel on the property now. They do not allow RVs to park overnight anymore due to the demand for parking spaces.

Unless you're going here exclusively for the casino, don't bother. It's a long uphill drive to get there. The RV area is a very long walk to the casino. Staff were very rude and not helpful at all. We turned around and left.

Very quiet HUGE parking area one level up the hill above the Casino. We were the only rig there and had a nice shade tree and literally oceans of space to ourselves. Nice view of casino & hills from the parking area. You can even hike the surrounding hills right from the parking lot. Security will come to check you in. One night is no problem...just need permission for more than one night.
We didn't eat in the Casino so don't know how the food is, but you can get a a free buffet if you sign-up for the Player's Club (look online for a coupon).
Casino itself is OK. A bit too smokey for me, but lots of slots.
Nearby Golf Course is very nice.

Sycuan Casino Theater

FREE Dry camp RV parking 1 level up from the casino- close to walk but 50 steps up and down. Asked to check in with Security and give Rig information. Did not see shuttle running up to the RV area. Quiet at night. Large casino with Smoking and Non-smoking areas. Free drinks in casino but have to ask a runner to deliver. Lots of choices for dining- buffet, sport bar, cafes. Very busy on the weekends and evening. All routine slots, table games and Poker room. Resort down the road has lots of amenities and gold course. Easy to get from Highway 8 -just about 5 miles inland...
